Our modern lifestyle is so hectic that we can hardly find time to stop and listen to our body. If something in our body changes, we don’t notice it or just think that everything’s going to be fine. But there are some symptoms that indicate serious diseases and we shouldn’t ignore them.

Bright Side gathered some information about signals that our body sends to tell us that something’s wrong.

Unexplained weight loss

There are not many women that get upset about losing weight. But if you suddenly lose weight without diet and exercise, you have to pay attention to it. The reasons can be different: chronic stress, diabetes, cancer, and so on. It’s recommended to visit a doctor immediately.

Chronic fatigue

Sometimes we all feel really exhausted but if you’re tired for more than 2 weeks (even if you get enough sleep), it’s better to see a doctor. This symptom can be caused by: thyroid problems, heart diseases, or vitamin D deficiency.

Breast changes

Each woman should do a breast self-exam once a month. And if she notices any changes (color, shape, lumps, and so on), she should visit her gynecologist or family doctor.

Shortness of breath and dizziness during simple exercise

If light physical activity like climbing to the 2nd floor causes dizziness and shortness of breath, it’s recommended to visit a doctor because these symptoms can indicate asthma or heart diseases.

Fast heart rate

You don’t have to see a doctor if you experience a fast heartbeat during workouts or if you’re nervous. But if you always feel heart palpitations without the influence of these factors, you should definitely pay attention to it.

Mole changes

If you’ve noticed a new and unusual mole or an old mole that has changed its shape or color, you should see a specialist. Pay even more attention to it if you spend too much time in the sun.

Bloating

We all feel bloated after a hearty dinner. But if your bloating isn’t related to meals, you might have problems with your ovaries. Additionally, if you suddenly start experiencing early satiety or pelvic pain, visit a doctor immediately.

Sudden vision loss

If you notice that your vision has changed quite suddenly or you experience double vision, you should see an eye specialist. If it’s accompanied by loss of balance, dizziness, speech problems, changes in facial expressions, and numbness on one side of your body, call an ambulance immediately: these signs are the symptoms of stroke.

Do you usually pay enough attention to what your body tries to tell you?
