Unusual Facts About the Body Many of Us Have a Hard Time Believing

We rarely think about how interesting and unique our bodies are. Did you know, for example, that taste can be felt through the feet? Or that men and women lose the same amount of hair daily?

Bright Side invites you all to read this compilation of facts about the human body — many of which we never speak about. At the end of the article, there is a bonus fact that will show real possible consequences of losing weight.

Bonus: What losing weight might look like

Not only is losing weight about dieting and partaking in physical activity, but it’s also about getting some unexpected consequences. While gaining weight, our skin stretches to provide enough space for storing new fat. Therefore, as you lose weight, the skin’s surface stays the same because it’s not capable of shrinking that fast. All of this results in sagging and ’hanging’ skin as well as the appearance of stretch marks.

Simone Anderson, an Instagram celebrity and the author of the book, Journey to Health: “How I Lost Half My Body Weight and Found a New Way of Life” is a good example of such a consequence. You can see the results of her weight loss in the picture above. Luckily, there are some ways to minimize this damage and to help you get rid of the loosened skin.
