Passengers on the ferry from New Jersey to New York noticed a man who in bad weather sailing on a SUP-board across the Hudson River. The bewilderment was caused by the fact that he wasn't dressed in a special sports suit. He wore a button-down shirt, slacks, and dress shoes. And he even had a briefcase over his shoulder. This man's name is Scott Holt, he's 32 years old, and he was hurrying to get to a meeting at work.

Bright Side discovered the story of this bold and reckless man who crossed the river between New Jersey and New York on a SUP-board to be on time.

A video with a surfer in a suit was taken by one of the passengers of the ferry. In less than a week, the video became incredibly popular on Facebook.

He did this in order to get to a work meeting on time, which was supposed to take place in New York. Also, the motive was the reluctance to pay for the crossing.

He just took his briefcase, jumped on the board and, despite the stormy winds and the troubled waters, he sailed towards Manhattan.

He fought with the elements and made his unusual adventure without any backup. He didn't even have a lifejacket. But he was lucky and was able to cross the river quite successfully in almost 30 minutes.

"Don’t worry, I made it to my meeting on time."

Judging by his profiles on Facebook and Youtube, Scott is engaged in a stand-up comedy. It's known that on the other bank, Holt had a meeting with a potential manager.

“I’m a starving artist, so I had the board and just kind of hopped on and went.”

Holt also said that when he approached Manhattan, the water became much more violent. It was then that he realized that he had to find some way to get to the shore dry, as well as alive and unharmed. He didn't know where to go so he just moved in a straight line.

As a result, he managed to cross the Hudson River without getting the suit wet. Holt joked that the journey even gave shine to his shoes.

In his Instagram, the brave man posted a few photos of the preparation and his journey.

Holt said that for a long time, he couldn't find where to "moor" in New York and went to a closed dock. When he got to the beach, he was greeted by policemen who eventually released him.

After this trick, he had to hear a lot from the police and from the ferry staff. Scott had to prove for a long time that he wasn't trying to commit suicide.

Witnesses were shocked by what was happening. Holt later stated that he hadn't thought through the fact that he wasn't wearing a life jacket.

Back in New Jersey, he didn't sail on the SUP-board and bought a ticket for the ferry.
