How many times have you missed or added extra words when you’re writing and only noticed it when someone else pointed it out? You probably assumed it was because you were careless. But nope, it’s just your brain messing with you.

At first glance, you might notice absolutely nothing wrong with it. Just a sequence of numbers starting in order at 1 and ending at 53.

Now let’s take a look at it again. This time, you need to pay full attention and be super fast. There’s something unusual about the image and you only get 10 seconds to figure it out.

See how your brain manipulated you the first time you looked at the riddle? Your brain would have processed this same number sequence for hundreds and thousands of times. So, every time you look at it, it creates a shortcut to an already existing image in your head. That’s why you couldn’t detect any errors initially.
