Alan Rufus was one of the most famous companions of William The Conqueror. It is estimated that Rufus lived between 1040 and 1093.
Land holdings were Rufus’s primary source of wealth, but he also gathered buckets of gold in the commerce market. Wool and salt were Rufus’ loyal friends. Rufus’ ancestors include many Counts, Dukes, Bishops. He was the one who born with a silver spoon, literally.

The expansion of William’s territory and conquering of England made him one of the richest men at that time. So, the bastard finally triumphed.

In the shining history of Hyderabad and Berar, Mir Osman Ali Khan was the final Nizam. His reign ended when India annexed Hyderabad and all his power got lost in that region.
Ali Khan’s ending was quite a sad one. He was worth around $1 billion before his death. Because of legal disputes among the family, the money was split into around 100 different directions, but even after this he was still incredibly wealthy.

Carnegie was never that kind of guy who would be satisfied easily. He then made a very meaningful and smart move. He started his personal business in the steel industry. When he was about to depart, the steel company was sold for $13.6 billion in today’s money. His name then was expanded into colleges, concert venues and museums. You can still see this great guy’s name in New York today.

Rockefeller, the monarch of oil of America, was the third richest man in the world’s history. He also knew that colleges are a fantastic way to make money. He founded University of Chicago, Central Philippine University, and Rockefeller University. If the tuition at that time were as high as today’s level, he might be at the top of our list.
