What is a light day?

A light day is a good way to eliminate toxins, burn fat, get rid of swelling, and rejuvenate your body. It’s a special way of eating that can be done twice a week. These days will be like the “janitors” that help your stomach and your intestines get rid of toxic buildup.

It’s important to keep in mind that this method will most likely provide you with only a short-term result and if you have any health issues, you may need to consult a doctor before beginning the diet.

How does a light day work?

Light day: Oil

The main task of this light day is to activate the enzymes responsible for the breakdown of fats. If you decide to arrange a creamy light day, prepare 500 ml to 700 ml of low-fat cream or milk and divide this amount into 5 meals. During this day, you can allow yourself a cup of coffee.

Recipe: Brew 150 ml of coffee and add 50 ml of whipped cream. Enjoy!

Light day: Carbohydrate

You most likely won’t feel hungry during these days and they’re perfect for the summer. Choose what you like the most and eat apples, watermelon, dried fruit, or oatmeal throughout the day.

If you prefer apples: take 1.5 kg of them and divide them into 5 meals with an interval of 3 hours. You can bake them or make apple juice, which will be a good rest for your digestive system.

If you like to eat dried fruit: dip 0.5 kg of them in water and divide them into 5 equally-sized meals.

If you choose to eat watermelon: divide 2 kg of watermelon into 5-6 meals.

If you like oats: prepare porridge from 200 g of oat powder and divide it into 5-6 equally-sized meals.

You can replace apples, dried fruit, and other food with juices from cabbage, carrot, cucumber, beetroot, celery, or orange/ grapefruit. The good news is that if you decide to drink juice all day long, you can mix all of the above-mentioned fruits and vegetables.

Light day: Protein

Protein light days are the most comfortable for weight loss. Protein is digested very slowly which means that you will not feel hungry for a while. Eat cottage cheese, meat, or fish and don’t forget to drink water.

If you like cottage cheese, take 500 g of fat-free cottage cheese and mix it with 100 g of honey. Then, divide it into 5 parts and eat it throughout the day. The cottage cheese can be mixed with greens, apples, or wheat bran soaked in boiling water.

If you prefer meat or fish, take 400 g of low-fat meat (veal, beef, turkey, or skinless chicken breast) or fish. Then, boil it in water without salt and divide it into 5 portions.

Light day: Combined

Many people find it quite difficult to last a whole day on one product. So, there are combined light days. Psychologically, it’s easier for people to get through such days. And if you do everything right, the effect will be the same!

Recipe for a rice-and-apple dessert: Prepare the porridge with 450 g of skim milk and 75 g of rice without any salt or sugar. Then, divide it into 3 meals. In between, you can eat up to 1 kg of apples.

What is detox?

If you’ve noticed that you’ve been suffering from issues such as chronic fatigue, general malaise, headaches, digestive problems, allergies, a worsened complexion, or other diseases, then these are all signs that your body requires detoxification.

Detoxing is a way to cleanse the body of toxins. The main principle is the consumption of fruits and vegetables in liquid forms such as juices and smoothies. It’s also necessary to drink a lot of water and herbal tea.

You can go through the detox process 2 times a week or once a week, depending on what you think is best for your body. The results won’t make you wait — you’ll notice some weight loss and a general improvement in your well-being.

Cherry-almond smoothie:

Strawberry smoothie:

Just mix 1 cup of water or almond milk with 1 banana, 15 average strawberries, 1/4 avocado, and 50 g of spinach.

Green smoothie:

Blend 1/2 avocado, 1/2 cucumber, 1/2 lemon, 100 g of spinach, 20 g of parsley, 250 ml of water and 6 ice cubes.
